Bishkek, Jan.15, 2025. /Kabar/. The Service for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking of the Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan summarized the results of its activities for 2024.
1,163 drug crimes were detected during the year, 154 of which were committed on the Internet, the press service of the ministry reported.
961 citizens were brought to criminal responsibility, including 17 minors and 17 foreign citizens. 15 tons 106 kg 549 grams of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors were seized from illegal circulation.
10 clandestine drug laboratories were liquidated, the activities of 98 criminal drug groups were suppressed, 12 persons wanted for drug crimes and 16 members of organized criminal drug groups were detained.
7 employees of internal affairs agencies were prosecuted for drug-related corruption in the area of illicit drug trafficking.
89 in the sphere of drug trafficking were detected, which resulted in fines of KGS 1 million 115 thousand.
Deputy Interior Minister Nurbek Abdiyev focused on the detection of drug crimes using information and telecommunication technologies on the Internet and set a number of tasks to suppress the smuggling of drugs of Afghan origin, to identify and eliminate drug laboratories, to identify members of organized criminal drug groups involved in drug trafficking, to identify the organizers of Internet stores engaged in the distribution of synthetic drugs, as well as to strengthen preventive measures against drug trafficking.
