Bishkek, April 12, 2022 . / Kabar /. Pervomaisky district of Bishkek held a coordination council on socially significant and especially dangerous diseases.
The press service of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office reported that an epidemiological situation of acute respiratory viral infections and COVID-19, the incidence of echinococcosis, tuberculosis, prevention of tobacco use, cancer - breast and cervical cancer was discussed.
According to experts, 1,588 cases of coronavirus were identified in the first quarter of 2022. Five types of vaccines (Sputnik, Sputnik Light, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna) were given to 51,523 people (the first dose), which is 60.9% of the total number of residents to be vaccinated. 42,310 people (50%) were vaccinated with the second dose.
The Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance data showed that 25,519 cases of acute respiratory infections were registered in Bishkek for three months of 2022 (16,590 cases in the previous year), the growth of morbidity was 53.8%.
Two cases of echinococcosis and 56 cases of tuberculosis were also recorded.
Information about the effects of tobacco use, nicotine and exposure to environmental tobacco smoke and aerosols was also heard.
The next issue discussed was the situation on cancer - breast and cervical cancer. For prevention purposes it was recommended to vaccinate women and girls from 10 years old to 55 years old.
According to the results of the coordination council, a report was prepared taking into account the suggestions and comments.
