10-day hepatitis campaign underway in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 26, 2024 . / Kabar / . A 10-day campaign to combat hepatitis, timed to coincide with the World Hepatitis Day is carried out in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Minister of Health of the country Bubuzhan Arykbaeva told at a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

She noted that as part of the campaign activities to raise awareness of citizens to combat the disease and prevent its spread will be held across the country.

At the moment, a large-scale serologic study and determination of the first and main risks of the disease are being conducted in Kyrgyzstan. For this purpose, more than 6 thousand households were selected.

"Children from 5 to 17 years old and adults from 18 years and older have also been selected. I urge citizens to actively participate in the study and contribute to the fight against this disease," the deputy minister said.

Arykbaeva added that KGS 100 million have been allocated for the purchase of rapid tests, vaccines and medicines in 2024.
