Osh, Dec.24, 2019 /Kabar/. Ten families of Pamir Kyrgyz have arrived in Sary-Mogol village, Alay region of Osh Oblast, local resident of Alay Raiymbek Mamaseyitov said.
He said the Pamir Kyrgyz family is temporarily housed in an old building of a local secondary school, which was cleaned up for temporary residence. Locals have warmly welcomed guests and are helping them.
In addition, residents provide assistance to Pamir Kyrgyz in the form of warm clothes, necessary things and food for life.
Earlier several other families of Pamir Kyrgyz have also arrived in the village. The total number of Pamir Kyrgyz arrivals is more than 50 people.
In October 2017, six Pamir Kyrgyz families -33 persons, were resettled to Naryn Oblast, most of them were minor children who came to receive education.
In late 2017, on Dec.1, a second delegation of Pamirs, relatives of those who were resettled in Naryn in October, arrived in Kyrgyzstan.
Two Pamir Kyrgyz families with children came to Kochkor region, Naryn Oblast on Feb. 18, 2018.
Today's Pamir Kyrgyz are descendants of Kyrgyz who emigrated to Afghanistan between 1575 and 1930. They live in the Great and Little Pamir Mountains in difficult conditions, without access to education and health care.
Every year, Kyrgyzstan sends expeditions to the Pamir Mountains that bring humanitarian aid to the Kyrgyz living there.
