Bishkek, March 9, 2022 . / Kabar / . "As of 12:00 a.m. on March 8, 107 citizens of Kyrgyzstan remain in Ukraine, including family members who are citizens of Ukraine and persons who previously renounced the citizenship of Kyrgyzstan,” Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Ukraine Idris Kadyrkulov said.
He added that 38 of them are in the war zones
"The embassy uses all possibilities in solving the tasks of evacuating people to a safe place. For example, on March 7 we managed to get 10 seats on a departing bus, transporting other refugees from Kiev to the city of Lviv.
“One Kyrgyz citizen was evacuated by this route. Remaining 9 people did not want to leave by this route," he noted.
The diplomat said that there are cases when individual citizens of the total number for objective reasons expressed a desire to stay in Ukraine.
"At the moment we are heading to Lviv to organize the planned evacuation of our citizens to Poland at the expense of the embassy. Previously, 32 citizens had signed up to be evacuated along this route.
Due to rapid changes in the operational situation in the host country, the statistical data on Kyrgyzstanis in Ukraine is constantly changing.
We continue to monitor the situation to choose the best options for evacuation," Kadyrkulov wrote.
