Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2022. / Kabar /. As a result of the conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, 11 thousand 52 people were evacuated, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan reported.
10,410 of them were transported to safe places, 642 people were placed in temporary places.
Currently, the evacuees are under the supervision of doctors, they are provided with everything necessary.
The border conflict started on Jan. 27 when Tajik border guards unilaterally blocked a section of the Batken-Isfana road in the area of Tort-Kocho in Batken of Kyrgyzstan.
Later, after the negotiations of the sides the road section was reopened for traffic.
However, the same day late evening the situation worsened due to the use of weapons and fire by the Tajik side on the border units of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Chyr-Dobo area of Batken region. The Tajik side used mortars and grenade launchers.
Further, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agreed on a complete ceasefire on the border.
The Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported on Jan. 28 that the night passed calmly and the situation at the border is stable.
According to data of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, 11 servicemen of Kyrgyzstan received various injuries during the conflict.
