The Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the Independent Trade Union of Drivers and Truckers of the Kyrgyz Republic monitored the situation at the border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Ministry of Economy reported.
During the monitoring, they received data on drivers, the quantity and value of the cargo, the country of destination and freight forwarder, as well as the costs associated with the dead time of transport at the border.
Over 400 drivers were questioned, standing in line along the road leading to the border with Kazakhstan. The length of the jam (queue) is 11.5 km. The duration of driving of one truck from the end of the line to the point of border crossing is 5-6 days.
In general, the majority of drivers expressed positive feedback to business associations that provide hot meals.
Tents of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and a medical center were installed on the border.
