Bishkek, May 7, 2024. /Kabar/. The 11th meeting of the intergovernmental commission between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan took place in Tashkent. The results were reported by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The event was organized under the chairmanship of the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
The parties discussed a number of important issues. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Sanzharbek Bolotov presented a report on the progress of implementation of the 10th protocol of the intergovernmental commission, as well as on the main directions of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Of the main projects discussed at the meeting, it is worth noting:
- on bringing trade turnover to 2 billion US dollars;
- on the opening of the Trading House of Uzbekistan and the Trading House of Kyrgyzstan;
- on the participation of the Kyrgyz side in the project “International Trade Center “Termez”;
- on the implementation of a project for the assembly production of automobile and commercial vehicles in the Kyrgyz Republic;
- about the activities of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund.
During the meeting, decisions were made on bilateral contracts for the supply of passenger elevators, the creation of service centers for servicing equipment, the creation of joint textile clusters, the development of the issue of replenishing the authorized capital of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz development Fund up to $200 million for the upcoming visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as throughout spectrum of bilateral cooperation.
The meeting emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of trust and mutual understanding between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan, which serves as the basis for the successful implementation of common projects and achievement of common goals.
