Bishkek, Nov. 28, 2021. / Kabar /. 12 thousand policemen are involved to maintain public order during the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktyabr Urmambetov told at a briefing.
He said that 6,000 of them are police officers who monitor public safety at polling stations.
“In addition, 211 documenting groups were organized to promptly respond to violations of the electoral process, which included experienced employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Also, more than 1.5 thousand road inspectors monitor the safety on the roads of the country,” he added.
The parliamentary elections has started in Kyrgyzstan on Sunday morning.
According to data of the Central Election Commission of the country 2,435 polling stations have been opened in the country at 8 a.m. local time, which will work until 8 p.m.
