Bishkek, Oct. 18, 2018. /Kabar/.12.2 tons of gold were produced in Kyrgyzstan within the first 9 months of 2018, which is 586 kg less than last year, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCIESU) of the Kyrgyz Republic Alymbek Orozbekov told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency.
He said that 9.5 tons of gold was produced at Kumtor, which is 3 tons less than last year, 2.5 tons of gold was produced at Altynken mine.
“In Kyrgyzstan, industry indicators depend on one enterprise. As you know, this is Kumtor CJSC, thus, if there was a significant decrease by more than 13% for the 8 months, then given the increase in production at Kumtor mine over the last month, this indicator decreased to 4.5%,” Orozbekov said.
