Bishkek, June 16, 2021. / Kabar /. The 12th meeting of the Coordination Council for Cooperation with the European Union was held under the chairmanship of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev.
The event was attended by a delegation of the European Union Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic, members of the Council and representatives of ministries and departments of the country, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The agenda of the meeting included the issues of bilateral and regional cooperation within the framework of the EU's Multi-Year Indicative Program for the Kyrgyz Republic and the Regional Indicative Program for Central Asia for 2021-2027, as well as the implementation of projects in priority areas of cooperation: education, social protection, rule of law, electoral system, digitalization, environmental protection and green economy, including the COVID-19 anti-crisis package.
Particular attention is paid to the issue of improving interaction within the framework of the implementation of key EU programs in the Kyrgyz Republic, primarily aimed at budgetary support, promoting digitalization, water resources management and promoting the rule of law program.
The need to complete the preparatory work for signing the draft Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the EU was noted.
The meeting participants noted the importance of promoting relevant bilateral and regional programs, as well as initiatives to strengthen cooperation with the European Union on program and project activities.
Following the meeting of the Advisory Council, a protocol was adopted, which reflected the agreements reached and a set of measures aimed at further developing bilateral cooperation and increasing the efficiency of EU programs and projects in the Kyrgyz Republic.
