132 cases of domestic violence recorded in Kyrgyzstan’s Naryn since beginning of year

Bishkek, July 22, 2022. /Kabar/. 132 cases of domestic violence were recorded in Naryn Oblast of Kyrgyzstan in six months of 2022, the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office reported Friday.

In the first six months of 2022, 132 cases of domestic violence were registered in the territory of the oblast, of which 118 (89.4%) were cases against women and 13 (9.8%) against minors, specifically, 64 cases of physical violence (48.5%) and 68 cases of psychological violence (51.5%).

"Due to the fact that the district administrations did not take appropriate measures to prevent domestic violence, the regional prosecutor's office initiated five administrative proceedings against deputy heads of regions. They were brought to administrative responsibility through a fine,” the report said.

The regional prosecutor's office will strengthen measures to prevent domestic violence, work with families and children in difficult situations, to combat juvenile delinquency.
