14 pregnant women contracted coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, May 12, 2020. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, 14 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered among pregnant women, Chief Sanitary Doctor and Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbayev said Tuesday.

He noted all of them are receiving appropriate treatment according to clinical guidelines.

"No cases of newborn coronavirus infection have been registered in the country so far," Usenbayev added.

Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday reported 21 new COVID-19 cases.

The republic has confirmed a total of 1037 coronavirus cases and 12 deaths since the outbreak began in March.

The number of recoveries from COVID-19 has reached 709 people nationwide.
