Bishkek, June 9, 2022. /Kabar/. 15 cases of meningococcal infection were registered in Bishkek in five months of 2022, the Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance said.
Six patients were admitted to an infectious diseases hospital in an extremely serious condition, one of them died at the age of 41, despite the efforts of medical workers in resuscitation measures to save his life.
Meningococcal infection is one of the most severe infectious diseases, especially among children under the age of 1 and 5.
One of the reasons for the severity of patients' condition is late seeking of medical help (on the 5th-7th day) and self-treatment at home.
