Bishkek, March 19, 2021 . / Kabar / . 150,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine against coronavirus were delivered to Bishkek today.
Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Maripov and Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen took part in the vaccine handover ceremony at Manas Airport.
The first to be vaccinated are those who have to interact with large numbers of people, such as medics, teachers, and border guards. Then, Kyrgyz citizens with chronic diseases and those who are over 65 years old will get the vaccine.
Sinopharm is the first coronavirus vaccine approved in China. It is now actively used domestically. It has also been approved in several foreign countries.
It is based on inactivated (killed) coronavirus. This method is considered one of the most reliable in creating vaccines. Before that, vaccines against diphtheria, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis, whooping cough and tetanus, for example, were developed using the same technology.
The course consists of two stages. The drug should be injected intramuscularly at intervals of 21 days. It was developed by Sinopharm's China National Biotec Group Company (CNBG) in collaboration with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the Institute of Biological Products.
