157 children contracted COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan in November this year

Bishkek, Nov. 17, 2020 / Kabar /. 157 children aged 7 to 17 years have been contracted COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan in 17 days of November, of which 153 cases were laboratory-confirmed, 4 cases of community-acquired pneumonia, Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told at a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

According to his data, 48 cases of COVID-19 were detected among school-age children in September, of which 34 cases were laboratory-confirmed, 14 were community-acquired pneumonia. In October, the number of cases increased 6 times and amounted to 315, of which 297 were laboratory-confirmed and 18 cases of community-acquired pneumonia.

“Infection of schoolchildren has nothing to do with the educational process. The focus of infection was mainly located at the place of residence of a child,” Beishenaliev said.

486 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Kyrgyzstan on Nov. 17, in total, 67,469 cases were registered since the pandemic, 58,315 citizens recovered, 1207 – died.
