Bishkek, Jan. 17, 2024 /Kabar/. 166 members of organized criminal groups were detained in Kyrgyzstan in 2023, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to its data, last year 698 criminal groups consisting of 1 thousand 724 people were detained for committing various crimes on the territory of the republic, who committed 1 thousand 996 crimes.
In order to prevent crime, 25 different operational and preventive measures were carried out in 2023.
Currently, the detention and prosecution of members of an organized crime group is one of the priorities, which is aimed at preventing and suppressing crimes of an organized nature, the ministry noted.
Thus, in 2023, employees of the Department of Internal Affairs of the country detained and prosecuted 166 organized crime entities.
