178 people injured, 34 died in Kyrgyzstan in border conflict

Bishkek, May 2, 2021. / Kabar /. As of morning of May 2, 2021, the total number of injured from border clashes is 178 people, of which 34 people died, First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Aliza Soltonbekova told at a briefing.

She added that of the injured is a physician. Burkanali uulu Ashirali, a paramedic of the Batken regional Family Medicine Center, was admitted on April 29 with a closed craniocerebral injury, concussion.

Soltonbekova noted that in total 56 people continue to receive treatment in Bishkek, 32 are in hospitals in Batken Oblast and the rest are receiving treatment at home.

“The nature of the injuries is different, but mostly gunshot and shrapnel wounds,” she noted.

The official noted that in all the involved hospitals in Bishkek and Batken region, there are currently enough medicines and medical products, blood and other components.
