17th coronavirus patient dies in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, June 7, 2020. /Kabar/. Another patient with a COVID-19 coronavirus infection, a 70-year-old Tashkent resident died, the press service of the Uzbek Health Ministry reported Sunday.

A man was taken on May 27 by an ambulance crew to the Republican Emergency Care Research Center (RECRC) with a closed brain injury caused by a car accident.

The analysis confirmed the patient had COVID-19, after which he was transferred to a multidisciplinary clinic of the Tashkent Medical Academy.

The patient's condition has deteriorated sharply in recent days due to increased respiratory depression and he was connected to a ventilator.

Despite standard resuscitation procedures, the patient died of a brain tumour, acute respiratory and cardiovascular failure.

This is the 17th coronavirus - related death in Uzbekistan.
