Bishkek, March 16 / Kabar /. Since the beginning of this year, 18 criminal cases have been initiated in Kyrgyzstan in connection with sexual violence against minors, Azamat Abdrakhmanov, the head of the department for juvenile affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic told during a conference to discuss a new draft law on family violence.
According to statistics, over the past 5 years there has been a decrease in crimes against minors.
He said that in the two months of 2017, over 1.2 thousand cases of domestic violence were registered in the republic, for all facts temporary protection orders were issued, administrative penalties were imposed on the perpetrators, and 12 temporary protection orders were also issued against minors.
