1834 citizens of Kyrgyzstan sentenced abroad for various crimes

Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2018. / Kabar /. Currently 1834 Kyrgyz citizens are serving their sentences abroad. Most of them are in Russia, Deputy Director of the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Bukalayev told journalists.

He noted that this is not complete statistics.

"The overwhelming majority, 1453 were convicted in Russia. The most frequently committed crimes are drug trafficking, theft and robbery, robbery, murder and rape. Also forgery of documents, passports and driving permits," he said.

It is noted that today more than 600 thousand Kyrgyz people live abroad.
