2,150 schools across Kyrgyzstan working in traditional mode

Bishkek, Jan. 25, 2021. /Kabar/. As of Jan. 25, 2021, a total of 2,150 schools across Kyrgyzstan are working in traditional mode, the press service of the republic’s Ministry of Education and Science said on Monday.

According to the report, traditional education was resumed mainly for students in grades 1, 5, 9 and 11.

Thus, following are data by oblasts:

- 97 schools in Bishkek have resumed traditional mode of education;

- In Osh city - 55 schools;

- In Chui Oblast - 306 schools;

- In Issyk-Kul Oblast - 192 schools;

- In Naryn Oblast - 142 schools;

- In Talas Oblast - 111 schools;

- In Osh Oblast - 547 schools;

- In Dzhalal-Abad Oblast - 465 schools,

- In Batken Oblast - 237 schools.

The capital schools for grades 1, 5, 9 and 11 started working on Jan. 18. The administration of educational institutions and the City Department of Education have taken all possible measures to ensure sanitary standards in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, cases of coronavirus infection were detected among school pupils during the mandatory inspections in two schools in Bishkek. As it turned out, COVID-19 cases were recorded in these families.

Now, according to the algorithm to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, the entire class in which these children studied will switch to online learning.

Children themselves will be under medical supervision for two weeks, while their teachers will be sent for PCR tests.
