2,800 fires killed 33 people in Kyrgyzstan since beginning of 2021

Bishkek, Dec. 6, 2021 . / Kabar / . During the first 11 months of 2021, a total of 2 thousand 801 fires were recorded in Kyrgyzstan (in 2020 - 2 thousand 21), number of fires increased by 12.2% compared to last year, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said Monday.

33 people were killed in fires (in 2020 - 30 people) and 44 people were injured (in 2020 - 28 people). 29 human lives were saved and material assets worth KGS 19 billion 236 million 638 thousand were saved.

The main causes of fires are:

- violation of the rules of electrical equipment operation - 1133 (18.8%);

- violation of the rules of operation of heating furnaces and chimneys - 265 (13.2%);

- careless handling of fire - 476 (-14.1%);

- children’s pranks with fire - 188 (-13%).

The largest number of fires was registered in Chui Oblast - 705, the smallest - 90 - in Osh city.
