2.3 mln COVID-19 vaccines left in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 27, 2022. /Kabar/. There are 2.3 million COVID-19 vaccines left in Kyrgyzstan, the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19 said.

A total of 6 million 168 thousand 200 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 were received and procured in the country.

3 million 571 thousand 443 doses were used. Discharged: 267,578 doses Remaining: 2,329,179 doses.

Of which at the expense of republican budget - 2 million 460 thousand doses, as a humanitarian aid - 2 million 280 thousand 200 doses.

Pfizer vaccines in the amount of 100,629 doses within the COVAX mechanism are expected to arrive in August.

"These vaccines are very expensive, they don't just come to us by plane. We did a lot of work to participate in the COVAX mechanism, we spent a year fulfilling the country's obligations.

We've been proving that the country has the ability and the resources, that health care organizations have enough cold equipment, that there is surveillance for side effects, and that there is surveillance for vaccine storage. Given the hard work that has gone into providing different types of vaccines, we urge our citizens to get vaccinated in a timely manner. After all, all efforts are aimed at protecting, preserving and strengthening the health of our citizens," Director of the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan Gulbara Ishenapysova said.
