Bishkek, Mar.5, 2020. /Kabar/. Over the past year, 209 violations of environmental legislation were identified in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry of the Kyrgyz Republic Nadyrbek Kozubayev said at the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

"Of these, 137 facts are illegal tree felling. The damage amounted to KGS 5.3m. In addition, 25 cases of unauthorized grazing have been recorded. Acts worth KGS 185,000 were drawn up on the facts of violations. There have also been 27 cases of removal of a fertile soil layer. Material damage amounted to KGS 1.2 million," he said.
Kozubayev added in 2019 forest tree felling fell by 1,022 compared to 2018.
Also 17 forest fires were registered last year.
"In addition, 217 violations of the rules of hunting, poaching and destruction of flora worth KGS 4 million 673 thousand were revealed in 2019. Of these, KGS 2 million 299 thousand were recovered," he added.
The State Forestry Agency also shot at 2,217 heads of harmful predatory animals.
"Of these, 633 heads of wolves, 28 heads of wolf cubs and 1,566 jackals," he added.
In conclusion, Nadyrbek Kozubayev said a national database of wild animals has been created and is connected to the Tunduk system (electronic interaction system).
