22 Kyrgyzstanis returned from Syria with support of USA

Bishkek, July 19, 2024 . / Kabar / . Another humanitarian mission "Aikol-6" on repatriation of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic staying in refugee camps in the north-east of Syria was carried out, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

As a result, 22 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic - 8 women and 14 children - were brought home.

This humanitarian mission was implemented in accordance with the set tasks of President Sadyr Zhaparov and the Cabinet of Ministers for the early repatriation of Kyrgyz citizens to their homeland and was organized with the direct support of the Government of the United States of America.

The Kyrgyz side expresses its special gratitude to the American side, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and other international partners for their full assistance in conducting a special operation to return home Kyrgyz citizens held in special camps in Syria and logistical support for this humanitarian process.
