22 law enforcement officers infected with COVID-19: Kyrgyz Health Ministry

Bishkek, May 8, 2020. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, contamination of law enforcement officers with COVID-19 coronavirus infection is linked to their work, Chief Sanitary Doctor, Deputy Health Minister of the republic Nurbolot Usenbayev told a news briefing.

According to him, they also have contact with coronavirus patients.

"First, 12 employees have been infected, then 3 cases have been revealed, and the day before 7 policemen in Chatkal region (Dzhalal-Abad Oblast) have been identified as coronavirus infected,” Usenbayev said.

As of May 8, Kyrgyzstan has reported 11 new cases of novel coronavirus, a total of 906, of which 226 are cases among medical personnel.

650 citizens have cured and discharged from hospitals.

12 have passed away.
