23,100 Uzbekistanis became citizens of Russia in 2020

Tashkent, Feb. 5, 2021. / Kabar /. In 2020, 23 thousand 100 Uzbeks obtained Russian citizenship, international audit and consulting network FinExpertiza said.

Last year, a total of 656.3 thousand people acquired citizenship of the Russian Federation.

The Ukrainians occupy the first pace among citizens of other countries who received the Russian citizenship with 409.5 thousand people, Tajikistan - 63.4 thousand, Kazakhstan - 43.4 thousand, Armenia - 30.5 thousand, followed by Uzbekistan - 23.1 thousand.

According to the researchers, the growth in the number of "new Russians" is facilitated by the easing of migration policy.
