238 criminal cases of violence against minors initiated in 2021

Bishkek, Feb. 9, 2022 . / Kabar /. In 2021, 238 criminal cases were initiated by internal affairs agencies of Kyrgyzstan in cases of violence against minors, Prosecutor General of the country Kurmankul Zulushev said during a press conference on Wednesday.

Thus, 149 cases were sent for judicial review, 85 cases were reduced and 4 cases are still under investigation.

In turn, there were also 971 crimes committed by minors, of which 114 cases were merged into one proceeding, 400 cases were reduced, 442 cases were sent for consideration by the court, and 15 cases are under investigation.

Besides, the prosecutor general pointed out that over the same period law enforcement agencies opened 9,800 pre-trial proceedings for crimes against women, of which 1,728 were sent to court, 5,396 were abridged and 2,676 were under investigation.
