Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2022 . / Kabar / . Bodies of 24 people were admitted to health care organizations in Batken Oblast, the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan said Saturday.
As of 1:30 a.m. of Sept. 17, the number of those injured makes 87, five of them were sent for outpatient treatment.
People injured mainly have shrapnel and gunshot wounds of various parts of the body.
The Health Ministry offers deepest condolences to the families and friends of fallen compatriots.
On Sept. 14, Tajikistan showed armed aggression by attacking Kyrgyz border outposts and settlements. On Sept. 16, the Tajik side, violating all previously reached agreements, again attacked border and civilian facilities along the entire perimeter of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in the Batken region.
Tajikistan used heavy armored vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and aircraft in an attempt to seize the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Ministry of Health reported more than 50 wounded from the Kyrgyz side, the death toll is being specified. Also, the media headquarters reported a dead 15-year-old girl from the village of Dostuk.
On the sidelines of the SCO summit in Samarkand, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The leaders of the two countries agreed to instruct the relevant structures to cease fire and withdraw forces and assets from the line of contact.
According to the latest data, despite the agreement on a complete ceasefire, the Tajik military continues shelling Kyrgyz villages. They destroy the infrastructure of outposts, as well as schools, kindergartens, retail outlets, first-aid posts, and houses. Shouting nationalist slogans, they show blasphemy and mock the bodies of the Kyrgyz border guards who died at the post.
