Bishkek, March 29, 2024 / Kabar/. The number of people injured due to strong winds in Bishkek and the Chui region was 24 people, Kubanych Kalmamatov, chief specialist of the Civil Protection Sector of the Ministry of Health, told Kabar.
According to him, 24 patients went to hospitals, 4 of them were hospitalized, the rest were treated on an outpatient basis.
“One victim is in moderate condition, the rest are assessed as satisfactory. Most of the victims had abrasions, cuts and head injuries, one had a hip fracture,” he said.
On March 28, at approximately 16.20, a strong wind began in Bishkek and the Chui region, the speed of which reached 18-28 meters per second. A state of emergency was declared in the capital city.
A strong wind knocked down many trees and demolished the roofs of some buildings, including social facilities. In addition, power lines and trolleybus lines were damaged in the capital city.
