Border conflict was provoked by Tajik servicemen, who unexpectedly opened group fire (according to verified data) towards Kyrgyz border guards and citizens, the press service of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said.
"At this time, Kyrgyzstan's border representatives for Batken Oblast are meeting with border representatives of Tajikistan's Isfara city to stabilize the situation at this section of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border," the report said.
During the shootout, three servicemen from the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan have been wounded to varying degrees, they are receiving the necessary medical care.
