Bishkek, July 23, 2021 . / Kabar / . 318 thousand Kyrgyzstanis have been vaccinated against COVID-19 coronavirus infection, and 103 thousand 941 of them have received the second dose, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the republic Zhalalidin Rakhmatullaev said during a briefing.
"We repeatedly call on fellow citizens to be vaccinated in nearby temporary vaccination points,” he added.
The representative of the Health Ministry recalled that 847 temporary vaccination centers have been deployed across the country for the convenience of citizens.
"I would also like to note that in order to avoid COVID-19 infection, the citizens should not neglect the basic rules of personal hygiene,” Rakhmatullaev concluded.
In Kyrgyzstan, the national vaccination campaign began at the end of March 2021.
The country purchased 1.1 million doses of the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm at the expense of the budget. Earlier, Chinese authorities donated a total of 300 thousand doses of the vaccine to Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, a batch of 120,000 doses of the vaccine was purchased from Russia, and 10,000 doses were donated.
An additional batch of Sinopharm vaccine in the amount of 1,250,000 doses will be purchased in the near future.
