Bishkek, Oct. 29, 2021 / Kabar /. The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan has registered 321 candidates running in single-mandate constituencies in the parliamentary elections, scheduled for Nov. 28, 2021.
In the context of regions, the number of candidates is as follows:
- Batken - 37 candidates,
- Osh - 59 candidates,
- Jalal-Abad - 50 candidates,
- Talas - 15 candidates,
- Naryn - 29 candidates,
- Issyk-Kul - 41 candidates,
- Chui - 63 candidates,
- Bishkek city - 27 candidates.
In addition, 21 political parties have been registered by the CEC to participate in the parliamentary elections.
The process of registration of candidates for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh has been completed in Kyrgyzstan, and an agitation campaign has started on Oct. 29 , which will last until Nov. 27 this year.
The parliamentary elections will be held by using a mixed electoral system. 54 deputies are to be elected according to the proportional system in single electoral constituencies, while 36 deputies are to be elected from single-mandate constituencies on a majority basis.
Before the amendments, the parliament of Kyrgyzstan consisted of 120 deputies elected for a five-year term according to party lists.
