Bishkek, April 12, 2022. / Kabar /. 35 marals (Cervus elaphus; a red deer), will be brought to Kyrgyzstan from Russia’s Altai Republic.
The Bakubat Talas Foundation at Alliance Altyn LLC financed the purchase of 35 marals, Alliance Altyn reported.
According to data, the marals will be brought from Altai and released into the wild in the mountainous area in Kyrgyzstan.
In recent years, there has been a decrease in the population of these animals in Kyrgyzstan, and marals from Altai will help to increase it, the report said.
The company noted that the purchase of deer is done in pursuance of the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on declaring 2022 the Year of Protection of Mountain Ecosystems and Climate Resilience and to support the project of the Talas Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision.
