36 Uzbekistanis died from carbon monoxide since beginning of year

Tashkent, Feb. 10, 2022 . / Kabar /. Since the beginning of the year, 21 cases of carbon monoxide leaks have been registered in Uzbekistan. During this period, 36 people were killed from carbon monoxide poisoning, 19 were poisoned, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic said.

The ministry created working groups to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning and checked 9,167 mahallas.

During the event, violations of safety rules in the use of natural gas in more than 37,200 houses and liquefied gas in about 22,700 households were identified and eliminated. It was found that residents used more than 21 thousand substandard heating stoves in the apartments, of which almost 20.5 thousand were dismantled.

Last year, 74 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning were detected, 128 people died and 67 people were poisoned.
