Four traffickers were convicted in Kyrgyzstan in 2017, one – in 2018

Bishkek, July 30, 2018 / Kabar /. 4 people have been convicted of trafficking in human beings in Kyrgyzstan, associate professor of political science of Kyrgyz National University Lola Ogonbaeva told at a scientific and practical conference on this issue.

In her report "State Policy on Trafficking in Human Beings" the associate professor noted that from 2013 to 2016, courts examined a total of 50 criminal cases initiated under Article 124 "Trafficking in Persons" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Last year 4, and for four months of this year one criminal case was initiated.

62 people were brought to justice for labor or sexual exploitation of the victims.
