Bishkek, Jan. 31, 2019. /Kabar/. It is planned to install 40 more sensors measuring air pollution in Bishkek, head of the Move Green public association Maria Kolesnikova told at a press conference in Bishkek.
She said that for the second year, the Move Green has been monitoring air quality. And in the near future about 40 more sensors will be installed in Bishkek to cover almost the entire territory of the capital.
“They will continue to measure one substance – solid particles in the air, because it is the one recognized by the World Health Organization as the most harmful,” Kolesnikova said.
Head of the Department of Meteorology, Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Andrey Podrezov noted that the station dealing with this research was acquired in December 2017 for 7 million rubles, that is, $ 120 thousand (at that rate).
“The device that measures contamination costs $ 20 thousand. Thanks to this sensor, measurements are done every minute,” Podrezov added.
