40 thsd doses of AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Kyrgyzstan from Azerbaijan

Bishkek, July 17, 2021 . / Kabar /. The Manas International Airport hosted on Friday a ceremony of receiving 40 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus from Azerbaijan's Baku.

The press service of Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the ceremony was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Azizbek Madmarov and State Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Social Development Zhaparkul Tashiev.

The Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for the humanitarian assistance and support in the current difficult epidemiological situation.

This is not the first humanitarian aid sent by Azerbaijani partners to the Kyrgyz Republic. In April 2020, 64 tons of medical and antiseptic supplies were received.

Agreements to provide this humanitarian aid were reached as a result of an official visit of Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev to Azerbaijan on July 1-3, 2021.
