408 facts of election-related violations registered in Kyrgyzstan during pre-election campaign

Bishkek, Nov. 28, 2021. / Kabar /. During the election campaign, 408 facts of election-related violations were registered in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktyabr Urmambetov told at a briefing.

According to his data cited at the brifing, 67 of them are crimes, 76 misdemeanors, 175 were written off for lack of corpus delicti, 22 facts are under consideration.

He noted that violations during the election campaign were registered in Bishkek - 52, in Osh - 29, in Chui oblast - 69, in Issyk-Kul oblast - 23, in Naryn - 47, in Osh - 21, in Jalal - Abad - 52, Talas - 27, Batken - 19.

The parliamentary elections are being held in Kyrgyzstan by using a mixed electoral system. 54 deputies are to be elected according to the proportional system in single electoral constituencies, while 36 deputies are to be elected from single-mandate constituencies on a majority basis.

Before the amendments, the parliament of Kyrgyzstan consisted of 120 deputies elected for a five-year term according to party lists.
