Tashkent, July 9, 2020. /Kabar/. Uzbekistan confirmed Thursday 421 new cases of coronavirus infection, bringing the total number of infections to 11, 259.
According to the press service of the Health Ministry, 249 patients throughout the republic have recovered from COVID-19 in the past day, 4 people died.
Uzbekistan has tightened quarantine restrictions from July 10 to Aug.1.
In particular:
- Movement of vehicles in cities, regions is restricted (except for services owned by agricultural producers and movement of personal vehicles).
- Public and entertainment events, weddings and other family ceremonies are prohibited.
- Persons over 65 years old are prohibited from movement in public places, as well as from gathering more than three people.
- Work of sanatoriums, boarding houses, children's camps, guesthouses, beaches and other places of rest is suspended.
- Public catering (restaurants, cafes, canteens) is suspended, except for delivery services.
- Work of clothing markets and large stores selling goods; gyms, fitness clubs and swimming pools is suspended.
- Activity of preschool educational institutions, training courses and any circles regardless of their legal form of ownership is suspended.
- Restrictions and new procedures for international flights and cargo transportation are being introduced.
In particular, international flights will be halved and truck drivers will have to pass the coronavirus test.
Nationwide recoveries from coronavirus have climbed to 7,006; death toll stands at 45.
4,152 Uzbekistanis are receiving treatment, 31 patients' condition assessed as serious, 12 are in extremely serious condition.
