Bishkek, Nov. 1, 2021 / Kabar /. 43% of the population of Kyrgyzstan who are subject to vaccination have been inoculated with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 33% with the second dose, Director of the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis of the country’s Ministry of Health Gulbara Ishenapisova told at a briefing.
She said that today the Chinese-made Sinopharm vaccine, the AstraZeneca vaccine developed by the Oxford University and the QazVac vaccine of the Kazakh production are available to the citizens of Kyrgyzstan. “Vaccines are safe and affordable for everyone,” Ishenapisova said.
In addition, the director of the center indicated that the Pfizer vaccine is also available to residents of Bishkek and Chui Oblast.
“The vaccine was delivered to the Kyrgyz Republic in the amount of 259,740 doses through the COVAX initiative, which includes 172 countries around the world, on Oct. 27. The vaccine will soon be available in all regions of the republic. I urge all citizens to be vaccinated and to protect themselves and their loved ones,” summed up Ishenapisova.
For to date, in total, 978,653 people were vaccinated in the country with the first dose and 751,407 people with both doses.
