47% of population vaccinated against COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Jan. 18, 2022. / Kabar /. 47% of the population has been vaccinated in Kyrgyzstan against coronavirus infection, Deputy Minister of Health Zhalalidin Rakhmatulaev told at a briefing.

He noted that vaccination is the most effective measure to combat COVID-19 and its strains.

"Today, more than 860 vaccination points operate throughout the country. I urge all our citizens to get vaccinated. Also, do not forget about preventive measures: wearing a mask, hand hygiene, using antiseptics and frequent ventilation of the room. If you have symptoms, stay at home and contact your family doctor or the 118 hotline," the deputy minister added.

Kyrgyzstan started the vaccination campaign on March 29, 2020. The country is inoculating its citizens with Sinopharm, Sputnik-V, Sputnik-Light, Astra Zeneca, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
