5 websites, 8 media channels and 5 accounts closed in Kyrgyzstan for publication of extremist materials

Bishkek, Sept. 12, 2018. / Kabar /. 5 accounts, 5 websites and 8 media channels were closed in Kyrgyzstan during the period from January to August 2018 for publication of materials of an extremist nature, the representative of the State National Security Committee told at the session of the Jogorku Kenesh.

Member of Kyrgyz Parliament Aaly Karashev asked why the media sharply reduced information about the fight against extremism and terrorism. He asked whether this is due to the reduction of this type of crime or the press receive little information about it.

The security officer said that the struggle is really underway. "Many operations are carried out along the SCO line. We can give information only after the coordination. Operations are conducting, if necessary, we will give information in the media," he said.
