Bishkek, June 18, 2021 . / Kabar / . 50% of air emissions in Kyrgyzstan comes from the energy sector, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the country Daniyar Imanaliyev said at a consultative meeting with representatives of companies suppliers and producers of "green" technologies.
He noted the energy sector includes the transport sector as an industry that burns fuel.
"Another 30.8% of emissions come from agriculture and only a little over 6% - from industry," Imanaliyev said.
According to the deputy minister, such data shows that the industrial sector is not a major source of emissions into the atmosphere.
"But there are other sectors to think about and work with. The energy sector includes the transport. Yesterday we discussed the introduction of electric cars as an alternative to avoid emissions. The second issue is the burning of coal. This is the work of cogeneration plants, and energy audit of buildings,” he added.
The official noted an analysis is being prepared on the contribution of the country in the transition to green technology.
