Osh, July 6, 2020. /Kabar/. More than 500 additional beds for pneumonia and coronavirus infection treatment are being prepared in Osh, Mayor Taalaibek Sarybashov said at a meeting of the Civil Protection Headquarters with the participation of heads of relevant services and departments.
The mayor stressed the need to be ready for any situation, emphasizing the importance of preparing places for patients with severe illness, as well as patients with mild and medium health conditions.
"Management of several hotels offered places for pneumonia patients. Nurzaman company also proposed an initiative to allocate KGS 400 thousand to purchase necessary medical equipment for pneumonia patients. Thank them for their support. In this situation, this assistance is very important," the mayor said.
"Efforts are being made to increase the number of oxygen concentrators and ventilators. Thus, 17 oxygen concentrators were sent to Osh from Bishkek under the sponsorship, 5 of which were transferred to medical institutions of the city. Currently, a proposal is being considered to prepare a polyclinic of the Internal Ministry for 80 places for patients with severe course of disease, where all necessary medical equipment and appropriate conditions are available.
In addition, the preparation of a 300-bed dormitory for the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Osh State University for this purpose is under consideration. Concerning personal protective equipment (PPE), there is also a need to organize additional supplies," said Osh Healthcare Coordinator Kyyalbek Tashbolotov.
Heads of relevant services have been instructed to exercise strict control over pricing policies in pharmacies and pharmacy warehouses for essential medicines, and to strengthen the work of mobile teams to monitor compliance with health standards in trade, nutrition and services.
