Bishkek, April 20, 2021. / Kabar /. 51 Kyrgyz citizens were extradited to Kyrgyzstan in 2020, Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic Kurmankul Zulushev told at a meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues and Regulations of the Parliament.
He noted that most of these citizens are extradited from the former countries of the Soviet Union.
“Today there is an attempt to conclude an interdepartmental memorandum with the UAE, China and other countries on the extradition of convicted citizens of Kyrgyzstan,” he said.
Zulushev also said that, according to data of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, 1,266 people were convicted abroad, most of them in Russia – 1,112, in Kazakhstan - 93, in Tajikistan - 26, in Uzbekistan - 32, in China - 12, in Turkey – 14.
