56% of Kyrgyzstan’s schools to be equipped with computers

Under the Education for the Future project financed by the World Bank, the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan will provide 1200 schools (56% of the total number of schools) and 8 pedagogical colleges of the country with computer equipment, office equipment.

A total of 24,168 computers, 7,208 projectors, 2,408 network switches (hub), 1,208 multifunctional devices MFP (printer + copier + scanner) and UPS (UPS) will be provided across the country, the press service of the Education Ministry reported.

In addition, computer classrooms in each school (1,200 schools) will be provided with 15 desks for computers, 15 chairs and 15 nightstands for the system unit.

Meeting the technological needs of schools will create the conditions for modern and quality learning for children. In this regard, in order to support the learning process through technology, the project will develop digital content for grades 5-11 with an emphasis on mathematics and science subjects (physics, chemistry, biology). Digital learning materials will be available to all schools in Kyrgyzstan.

Currently, a tender has been announced and relevant procurement procedures are underway. The delivery of technical equipment, for 1,200 schools and 8 pedagogical colleges is planned for October 2022.
