Observer of the Mission, representative of the CEC of Azerbaijan Bakhshain Mammad Askerov gave a positive assessment of the election process in Kyrgyzstan.
"We were directly at the polling stations in Kyrgyzstan in January. We witnessed democratic, exemplary elections, the greatest work on the organization of elections. The upcoming elections will be a model for our states. Good things must be learned. Kyrgyzstan is now Asia's Europe. I am sure that the upcoming elections will be as successful as presidential elections in January were," he said.
Mission observer and representative of Uzbekistan's CEC Shukhrat Dzhurayev conveyed the wishes of head of the Uzbek Central Elections Commission.
"There is no doubt that these elections will be held at a high level. We, as close neighbors, are interested in this," he said.
Head of the Kyrgyz Central Elections Commission Nurzhan Shaildabekova informed the mission of the measures taken by the Commission to counter electoral irregularities in Kyrgyzstan.
"We strive to make our electoral system progressive, transparent and reliable, and the recommendations of international observers help us in this. The presidential elections was important for us in terms of restoring the trust of citizens, building work against bribery, the use of administrative resources.
We built a new system of interaction with law enforcement agencies, for these elections we repeated the cycle of training for the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor's Office, because there is a problem of applying in practice the new laws against administrative resources, bribery.
This year we have changed the approaches in the elections. Now the mechanisms of law enforcement practice, the counteraction of law enforcement to violations will be included in the programs of the Prosecutor Training Center, the Academy of the Interior Ministry, and the Institute of the State Committee for National Security. This will become a sustainable practice, OSCE supports us in this," Shaildabekova added.
In the upcoming elections, the electoral model will be the same as before - biometric identification of voters and counting of votes through automatic ballot boxes. This model ensures the transparency of the elections with the absence of vote-buying.
During the meeting, it was suggested that the turnout in local elections could be higher than in previous elections, given the activity of political parties and candidates.
According to the March survey of the International Republican Institute, 58% of Kyrgyzstan's population consider the work of the CEC on the organization of elections to be effective.
