Bishkek, Jan.13, 2025. /Kabar/. In 2024, 59 agricultural cooperatives have opened and are operating in Kyrgyzstan.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the country reported that the area of land cultivated by them is 4,500 hectares, the number of members - 413, of which: in Chui Oblast - 15, in Issyk-Kul Oblast - 3, in Osh Oblast- 11, in Jalal-Abad Oblast - 12, in Talas Oblast - 6, in Naryn Oblast - 8, in Batken Oblast - 4.
The Department of Cooperation, Mechanization and Innovative Technologies in Agriculture together with local governments is working on the implementation of the “Program for the Development of Agricultural Cooperation in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023-2027” in the regions.
The department is working on the development and establishment of the cooperative system, the principles of voluntary association of small rural producers in agricultural cooperatives in the regions and the introduction of democratic governance mechanism.
